Parents Speak Out Against Rezoning Of Bedford County Elementary Schools

Bedford County parents turned out in force last night to oppose a redistricting plan that would affect seven elementary schools and 260 students. Some parents say they don’t want to send their children to different schools next year that are farther away than the ones they attend now. But school officials say schools like Forest Elementary and New London Academy are overcrowded, while Big Island and Otter River could hold more students. Two more public hearings are scheduled on the redistricting.
