Perriello Says No To Governor Race

Former Congressman Tom Perriello will not run for governor of Virginia. That removes the final possible obstacle for former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe to claim his party’s nomination next year. On the Republican side, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli appears to be a shoe-in for his party’s nomination. The only other question at this point is whether Republican Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, who recently announced he will not seek the GOP nod, will run as a third-party or independent candidate.
