Prank Is No Laughing Matter For Two VA Tech Football Players

Two Virginia Tech walk-on football players have been suspended from the team after being charged with manufacturing and detonating an explosive device. 20-year-old Joshua Trimble and 19-year-old Brian Rody were arrested Sunday after a small explosion near an apartment. There are no reports of injuries in the blast.The players’ attorney said they were playing a prank on a friend and meant no harm. They were released from custody on bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 24. The Hokies play Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28.
