After a hugely successful 2012, supporters of the Lynchburg dog park are looking forward to another great year in 2013 … one that will be filled with sunny days spent frolicking footloose and leash-free at the area’s first off-leash dog park!
Hundreds of people and their canine companions have visited the new park at least once since it opened in late June, and we’re expecting even bigger crowds next year. To make their visits even more enjoyable, we need some help. This week, letters are being mailed to supporters all around central Virginia, asking for their help with Phase II of the park’s Capital Campaign. We’re still trying to raise about $85,000 to “put some meat on the bones” of the dog park – adding things like benches, shade trees and walking paths to make the park a more enjoyable experience for all dogs and their human companions. Business advertising signage and opportunities to sponsor a bench, water fountain, or landscaping are also available at the dog park. Even if you don’t receive a letter, details on how to donate to the campaign are on the FLDP website: www.lynchburgdogpark.com. Remember, we’re a non-profit organization that receives no City funding – everything we accomplish, we do through your generosity.
