Roanoke On Track To Becoming New Amtrak Stop

Roanoke is next on the list to get passenger rail service via Amtrak, now that service between Norfolk and Richmond is about to begin. Officials say the service might begin in 2018. Amtrak’s current closest stop is in Lynchburg, which connects the area to Washington, DC and stops in between.
