Appomattox County supervisors have asked the Dept. Of Transportation to conduct a study into traffic safety issues at Appomattox Elementary School. According to the Times-Virginian the School Board Chairman sent a letter of concern last month, to the Supervisors regarding backed-up vehicles in the heavily congested area. Approximately 38 busses and scores of parents vie for space to unload and pick up students each weekday. There would be no cost the county for the traffic study, though all requests for VDOT are to be initiated by the Board of Supervisors.
