Woman Arrested For Assault

A Thaxton woman is under arrest on charges she assaulted a man at his home Wednesday night, then assaulted a Bedford County Sheriff’s deputy as he tried to handcuff her. Investigators say 27-year-old Jessica Hiner stabbed a man at a home on Irving Road, and he needed hospital treatment for chest and hand injuries. When deputies later arrived at Hiner’s home to make an arrest, they say she resisted.
