In the past 24 hours, Tornadoes have ripped through four states killing at least two people, as an Arctic cold front clashed with warm air to produce severe weather over a wide swath of the nation. In Virginia, Pulaski County appears to be the hardest hit by Wednesday’s storm. Much of Central Virginia dodged a bullet during Wednesday’s storm. Not much in terms of wind damage, and the Rain was heavy, but only at times. Rainfall totals exceeded 3″ in several spots, and many creeks and smaller streams are flooding. In Amherst County, heavy rain caused a bridge to flood. Amherst County officials anticipate the bridge to be completely clear by this morning. State officials encourage motorist to be mindful of high water and debris from flooding in low lying areas.
