Amherst School Superintendent Takes Job In SW Virginia

The superintendent of the Amherst County Public Schools system has announced his resignation. Brian Ratliff met in a closed session last week with the school board and sent an official email to teachers, staff and administrators announcing his decision on Tuesday. Ratliff was appointed by the Washington County School Board and will be leaving the region to accept the position as division superintendent in Abingdon effective July 1.
