Bedford Election Districts Different–But Still The Same

Bedford County will likely continue to have seven election districts, even after the city of Bedford reverts to a town status in July. The News & Advance reports, the committee recommended splitting the Town of Bedford into District 6 and District 7 under a seven-district blueprint. According to law, new lines shall not deviate from existing ones by 5 percent. Each district in the recommended proposal was altered by less than 2 percent. The Board of Supervisors suggested modification to the plan before a public hearing and approval process can begin.
