Central Virginia Community College is one step closer to renovating its student center. The State Board for Community Colleges approved funding and architectural plans for the new space. CVCC is expecting a 5 percent increase in full-time students next fall as new dual enrollment programs open and the college sees the outcome of more aggressive recruitment efforts. College officials say the modernized community center will allow the college to accommodate the growth. CVCC plans to break ground on the $500,000 project June 1. Construction will take six to eight months and will be completed in phases with students having access at all times.
