Donation Continues To Provide A Free Ride

An anonymous donor has helped boost bus ridership in Altavista. According to the News and Advance, for the past two years an unidentified Altavista resident has donated almost 3-thousand dollars total so that anyone may ride the town’s bus free of charge from June through September. Last year 34-hundred people took advantage of the gift – with ridership increasing about 40 percent.
