Hero Saves Lives Of Family In Burning Home

The actions by a man who says he is a retired firefighter are being credited with possibly saving five lives after fire broke out at a Franklin County rental home before dawn Sunday. County Fire Marshal Bennie Russell says the unidentified apparent hero noticed a glow from the house on Crazy Fox Drive near U.S. 220 as he drove by, went to the house and knocked loudly on the door to wake those inside. A married couple and the three of their four children who were home with them escaped uninjured.
