Hiker Rescued In Rockbridge County

Rockbridge County emergency responders rescued a hiker late Saturday night from the Devil’s Marbleyard area. Chad Jarrett fell nearly 40-feet into a hole and temporarily lost consciousness. The 26-year-old was hiking with friends Saturday morning and decided to go off on his own. The search and rescue effort went on for 12-hours. Crews carried Jarrett out on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. He was treated at the hospital and friends say he’s doing fine.
