Attorneys for George Huguely, the former University of Virginia lacrosse player convicted of the 2010 killing of his girlfriend, Yeardley [[ YARD-lee] Love, are appealing the verdict. The lawyers today filed documents with the Virginia Court of Appeals, citing several reasons why the conviction should be set aside. They say jury selection was flawed, that the jurors should have been sequestered, that evidence was insufficient and that prosecutors failed to disclose that Love’s relatives would sue Huguely for 30-million-dollars in a separate civil case.
