No school today for students in Giles County — The mention of Narrows schools on a website that also discusses the mass shooting at a Newtown, Connecticut elementary school and a Batman movie has Giles County schools officials taking some extra precautions. Virginia State Police have clued Giles County into the website which links Sandy Hook Elementary to the Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” and the article’s author is said to have performed an online search for “Narrows” and found the Narrows elementary, middle and high schools. No specific threat against the Giles schools has been made. Police alerted the Giles County Schools of the posting, and news reports say schools are closed Wednesday as a precaution
