Law Makers Push For Life Saving Equipment In Schools

Legislators from Stafford County have introduced a bill that would require that a defribrillator be in every school in Virginia. Defibrillators, or A-E-Ds, are portable electronic devices that can “jump start” a heart. A Northern Virginia couple, Joel and Jennifer Griffin, are lobbying for the legislation in memory of their 13-year-old daughter, Gwyneth. “Gwyneth’s Law” would also require CPR and defibrillator training for teachers and bus drivers in Virginia, and make it mandatory for graduating from high school.
