Local Chapter Of Red Cross Is Awarded Grant

The Historic Virginia Chapter of the Red Cross recently received grant money to help will fund relief efforts in Central Virginia. The Red Cross says it helped 212 people last year whose houses were damaged by fire and sheltered more than 600 during the June derecho. The Greater Lynchburg Community Trust awarded the $6,500 to assist local families who have been displaced by natural disasters.
