A federal appeals court in Richmond is set to rehear Liberty University’s challenge to the Obama administration’s health care law. Medial outlets report, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals set a Feb. 27 deadline for the LU’s brief in the case and oral arguments are scheduled in May. In November, the Supreme Court ordered the appeals court to consider the claim by University that the health care law violates the school’s religious freedoms. Liberty is challenging both the requirement that most individuals obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, and a separate provision requiring many employers to offer health insurance to their workers.
