Missing Autistic Girl Was Found Safe

A missing Halifax County girl was found safe yesterday. Law enforcement searched the Vernon Hill community Thursday looking for Kennedy Smith, a 5-year-old girl with autism, whose mother reported her missing from her house shortly after 3 p.m. A canine unit discovered the young girl less than a mile from her house carrying a handful of flowers she picked for her mother; she was returned home safely.
