The Lynchburg museum is featuring Lynchburg’s movie history during tonight’s First Friday event. Lynchburg had a number of early theaters including the Isis, Warner, Paramount, Harrison, Academy, and Majestic where stars such as Will Rogers, Mary Pickford and Minnie Pearl made personal appearances. The movie, The Vanishing Virginian, premiered in Lynchburg in 1942 featuring the Yancey family of Diamond Hill. Tonight the museum will feature items related to Lynchburg’s theater history. The museum on Court Street is open free of charge from 5 to 8 tonight.
