The Virginia Department of Health, this week, will hold a public hearing on applications for certificates of public need from Centra Health and Danville Regional Medical Center. Both hospitals need certificates of public need for CT scanners proposed in Gretna and Chatham. A new $25.3 million medical center will replace the present facility in Gretna and Centra hopes to break ground this spring and open the facility in late 2014. A hearing will hold at the Olde Dominion Agricultural Complex near Chatham at 1-Friday Afternoon.
