Senate Endorses Education Package

A Senate panel has endorsed four bills in Gov. Bob McDonnell’s education package, sending them along with little debate. The bills would help get grants to local schools for performance-based teacher bonuses and help streamlining procedures for consolidating schools and setting up charter schools.
