Stormwater Study Underway In Lynchburg

Lynchburg could capture more than $3 in economic benefit for every $1 it spends on stormwater infrastructure, according to a study from the University of Maryland’s environmental finance center. The News & Advance reports, revenue from the city’s stormwater fee has surpassed expectations by nearly 15 percent since it took effect in July. The study will include an evaluation of whether the city is spending its stormwater budget efficiently. Lynchburg is one of three mid-Atlantic communities picked for the economic impact and efficiency study; it is free to the city and should be finished by the year’s end.
