The man convicted of trying to rob a Taco Bell in Forest last year, has been sentenced to six years behind bars. 23 year old, Elton Short, of Evington, pleaded guilty in October to three counts of attempted robbery and three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony in connection with the May 23 robbery. Surveillance video from the store shows a masked person climbing through the restaurant’s drive-through window with what appears to be a handgun, interacting with three employees, and leaving the store. Short’s co-defendant, Candace Moore, also pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted robbery. She is set to be sentenced in early February.
