Amherst authorities say two people are now in jail after trying to sell cocaine to an undercover officer, and crashing a car while trying to flee arrest. 24 year old, Joel Lamont Taylor 21 year old and Brittany Leshee Carpinteyro were captured–each charged with distribution of cocaine. Taylor also faces three counts of attempted aggravated malicious wounding of police officers, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and a felony count of attempting to elude police. Authorities seized about $5,800 worth of cocaine from the pair. Both are being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Madison Heights. No bond has been set.
