Virginia Will Likely Change Electoral Vote Distribution

A bill which would divide Virginia electoral votes by congressional districts is on its way to a full state Senate committee after a tie vote in a subcommittee yesterday. With Republicans controlling the Privileges and Elections Committee, the measure is likely to pass and advance to the full Senate. If the bill becomes law, Virginia would join Maine and Nebraska in not granting all of its electoral votes to a single presidential candidate, but would rather award one vote to the winner of each congressional district.
