A pair of Virginia Tech football players will each perform 100 hours of community service as a penalty for setting off an explosive device as part of a prank last month. A judge found 20-year-old Joshua Trimble and 19-year-old Brian Rody guilty of a misdemeanor instead of the original felony charge and sentenced them to 30 days in jail, with the entire term suspended. The prosecutor urged the judge to reduce the sentence, calling it a case of “immaturity and poor judgment”.
