Bill Passes Making It Illegal To Purchase Firearms For Another

One of Gov. Bob McDonnell’s gun-safety bills, which punishes people who buy guns on behalf of disqualified individuals, has cleared two Senate committees with no opposition. State law now makes it a class 6 felony if someone knowingly provides a firearm to a person who cannot own or carry the weapon legally. The bill goes to the Senate floor with no one having voted against it in committees.
