A Gladstone man has been charged with 54 sexually-related felonies committed between two counties. 38 year old James E. Jessup III was arrested last month following a three-month investigation by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and charged with 20 counts plus another 34 counts in Appomattox County. Jessup, a registered sex offender from a previous case, faces 10 counts of rape, 10 counts of sodomy and multiple other sexual battery and indecent liberties charges. Jessup also is charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny from an unrelated investigation from 2011. Because multiple charges and jurisdictions are involved, a hearing date has not been set yet.
