C’Ville & Southside Make Endangered List

Two of the top 10 most-endangered places in the Southeast are near the Lynchburg area, according to the annual list from the Southern Environmental Law Center. The environmental group says rural Albemarle County is in danger because of the proposed Charlottesville Route 29 Bypass. Southside Virginia made the list for what the center calls the continuing threat of uranium mining. The center vows to fight both projects through evironmental legislation, lawsuits and regulations.
