DMV Looking To Become Storefront For Important Documents

A bill sponsored by Sen. Steve Newman, cleared a House of Delegates committee on Tuesday to make the DMV a storefront for acquiring copies of birth certificates, death certificates and marriage licenses, therefore eliminating the delays from Richmond. Newman has been working on the DMV storefront concept for three years. Changes at DMV would go into effect in March 2014 if the bill wins final approval and receives Gov. Bob McDonnell’s signature.
