UPDATE:
Campbell County authorities have charged a man with killing his elderly grandparents. 27-year-old Robert Lee Philbrook is charged with second-degree murder and related firearms charges. The bodies of Philbrook’s grandparents, 73-year-old John Philbrook and his 71-year-old wife, Virginia, were found last Friday in their home. Both victims had been shot. Deputies went to the home after neighbors requested a welfare check. Robert Philbrook is being held at the Campbell County Adult Detention Center.
2/20/13: The adult grandson of double homicide victims John and Virginia Philbrook is in custody. In a press conference this morning, investigators released very few new details regarding the murder investigation of the couple found Friday shot to death in their home on Shady Hollow Road. But did say 27-year-old Robert Lee Philbrook was arrested Tues and charged with two counts of second degree murder. He also faces two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The motive to the killings has not been release.
