Man Shoots Brother In Hand

The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office investigated a malicious wounding on Saturday February 9th. On Saturday evening shortly before 4pm Kemper M Smith, a 59 year old male of Lamont Drive New Carrolton MD, was shot in the hand during a domestic dispute. Following an investigation, Satchell S Smith, a 57 year old male of Turkey Mtn. Road was arrested for Malicious Wounding. Mr. Satchell Smith was released on a secure bond pending his advisement in Amherst General District Court. The Smiths’ are brothers and apparently jointly own the residence where the altercation took place. The shooting is reported to have occurred over a disagreement concerning a room mate living there.
