More And More Companies Express Interest In Wind Off Virginia’s Shores

Several energy companies have joined Dominion Virginia Power in expressing interest in developing wind farms off the coast of Virginia. A growing number of companies have alerted the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management of their plans to join the bidding later this year to develop wind energy in the 133-square-mile area 27 miles off Virginia Beach. The development area was carved out of the Atlantic making it one of the busiest sections of the coast on the eastern seaboard.
