New Wildlife Rehab Center Will Assist Southside Animals

Southern Virginia’s first wildlife rehab center is open. Danville has no zoning rules for a wildlife rehabilitation business, so it took a year for city officials to approve the opening of the Southside Virginia Wildlife Center. Now a licensed and permitted wildlife rehabilitator for North Carolina and Virginia is taking care of the sick, injured or young wild animals. Tanya Lovern is currently the only licensed and state approved wildlife rehabilitator serving Pittsylvania, Halifax and Henry Counties and the center is already home to dozens of critters. The closest rehabilitator had been in Roanoke or Campbell County.
