State Police say a former Farmville police officer has been charged with four counts of attempted murder in an shooting incident involving Charlotte County deputies Saturday. Officials say T.J. Long of Prince Edward County shot at the lawmen and State Police on farmland near the Charlotte and Prince Edward County lines. State police say they were able to set up a perimeter around the property and that no one was injured. Long reportedly set fire to a cabin his ex-wife owned. He eventually surrendered late Saturday afternoon.
