2/13/13:
Lynchburg City Council is considering changing the polling place for Ward 4’s first precinct from the Elks Lodge on Old Mill Road to Cornerstone Community Church on Old Graves Mill Road. A public hearing is set for February 26th.
2/12/13: The Lynchburg Electoral Board recommends moving a polling place due to the smell of smoke. The change, would affect voters in the Wyndhurst and Richland Hills neighborhoods. The board proposes reassigning those voters to a new polling place it would establish at Cornerstone Community Church on Old Graves Mill Road instead of the Elks Lodge. News & Advance reports, the church has agreed to serve as the precinct’s new voting location. In 2011, a formal complaint was filed with the State Board of Elections about the odor and the local board told the state it would look for a new location. If approved, the move would take effect for the November elections.
