Purple Heart Photo Date Set

The Military Order of the Purple Heart in Lynchburg is trying to round up every African American in the area who’s earned a Purple Heart medal, which is given to those who were wounded or killed, while serving in the military. A small gathering of Purple Heart recipients met to take a photograph in 2009. Now a second photo is in the works. The picture will be taken February 22 at noon, on the steps of Monument Terrace in Lynchburg.
