Raise & Bonus Possible For Older State Workers

Older state workers may get a bigger pay raise. The Virginia House Appropriations Committee has recommended giving 50-dollars for each year of service to those who have worked for the state at least five years. The 17-million dollar measure is in addition to the two-percent overall raise set to take effect this summer. It’s an effort to increase compensation for older workers, whose wages may have fallen behind younger co-workers.
