UPDATE:
Authorities are hoping evidence found at two properties in Campbell County Tuesday may lead to answers of what happened to Wendy Dawn Beadles Francis. The properties were searched simultaneously and authorities found items in both locations; swabs for DNA had been taken from Francis’ parents on Wednesday and all have been sent to the lab in Richmond for analysis. The Campbell County Sheriff’s office says they’re actively investigating this case and have not ruled out other searches, but have not commented on any persons of interest. Beadles, has been missing since June of last year and was last seen in Brookneal.
2/7/13: Authorities this week searched for new leads and evidence in the case of a missing Halifax County woman. Wendy Dawn Beadles Francis was last seen by her father on June 8 at the home they shared in Nathalie. On Wednesday, investigators gathered DNA swabs from her parents. The testing comes just one day after a search of a home on Phelps Creek Road in Brookneal. A dive team was also brought in to look in a nearby pond along with dogs to explore 20 wooded acres next door. Officials have not named the person who lives in the home that was searched, as a suspect in Beadles’ disappearance.
