Water in Evington (or lack there of) has been a problem for decades and residents are expected to speak out on the issue of dry wells tonight at the Campbell County Board of Supervisors’ meeting. Dozens of homes in the community are having the same problem and some home owners say they’re willing to help pay for a water line extension, if county leaders agree to explore the idea again. The county studied the water line extension in 2005 but the county has not found an affordable solution in the past eight years. According to the County Administrator, an extension would cost about $1.5-million. The closest public water line runs along Leesville Road.
