UPDATE:
Campbell County residents are concerned about proposed revisions to the noise ordinance. One change would have the county begin measuring noise levels with a decibel reader instead of the “relative man” standard. County officials say they will measure decibel levels at upcoming public events so they can to clarify the ordinance’s language. No vote is scheduled.
3/5/13: Campbell County Supervisors will hold a public hearing tonight so that residents can share their opinions on the proposed revisions to the noise ordinance. The county in recent years has received an increased number of requests to hold fundraisers involving concerts or musical performances. Noise ordinance concerns were brought to the board’s attention at its December meeting when the fall update for the County Code passed. The proposed revision creates a measurable standard for excessive noise under the noise ordinance in the county code. A public hearing is required in order to implement amendments; the meeting will be held at 7-this evening.
