Four officials with the former Lynchburg-based Peanut Corporation of America have pleaded NOT guilty to criminal charges. Stewart Parnell, his brother and two former employees at a Georgia processing plant face numerous fraud charges in connection with the salmonella outbreak that killed 9 people and sickened hundreds. Prosecutors claim Parnell knew some peanut products were tainted with the deadly bacteria and forged documents to make it look like they passed inspection. No trial date has been set.
