Tennessee’s Department of Transportation is preparing for heavy traffic in conjunction with this weekend’s NASCAR event. TDOT is dispatching three of its HELP trucks to keep traffic flowing near Bristol International Speedway. The crew is equipped to change flat tires, provide fuel and direct traffic with lighted message boards. The lime yellow, four-wheel drive trucks are equipped with bumpers that can be used to push cars. According to the department, drivers are also trained emergency medical responders. The Food City 500 race is this Sunday at Bristol.
