Halifax Regional Health System has announced its plans to relocate the 54 nursing home beds that may be available after South Boston Manor closes this spring. The Gazette-Virginian reports, the Manor provided public notice on Feb. 22 that the facility would be closing. According to the article, the aging facility, small size and low census all contributed to the closure, and it was no longer financially viable to continue operations. Directed by the state, the process will take several months to finalize, but all residents are expected to be relocated by April 23.
