Train To Be A Storm Spotter For NWS

The National Weather Service will conduct two storm spotting and weather safety presentations for want-to-be weather watchers in Central Virginia. The SkyWarn class teaches participants how to identify potentially dangerous storms; students become official storm spotters and can report dangerous weather to the local chapter in Blacksburg. The first class will be held in Rustburg on Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. The second is set for 6pm on April 16 at the Red Cross building in Lynchburg. The presentations are free; each class runs two hours and no pre-registration is required—visit www.erh.noaa.gov for more information.
