Campbell County School Officials Introduce Ways to Increase Number of High School Graduates

campbell co. schoolsThe Campbell County School Board on Monday discussed a two part plan designed to assist with increasing the graduation rate. The News & Advance reports, the school administrator’s office found that students who were held back in elementary school or middle school were more likely to drop out of high school, even if they otherwise were on track to graduate. The goal is to help those students get through high school in three years and catch up with their age group. According to the article, beginning next school year, high school credit courses will be offered at the middle school level; giving students the opportunity to earn three high school credits to catch up with their peers.
