Real Estate Installment #3 Is Due Monday, March 17

Property owners in Lynchburg are reminded that the third installment for real estate taxes is due by Monday. City officials say a 10% penalty will be applied if the March 17 deadline is not met. According to the city website, residents that have not received a real estate tax bill should contact the Billings and Collections Division. Questions regarding real estate assessments should be directed to the Assessor’s Office; the department keeps an alphabetical ownership tax roll and assesses approximately 32,000 real estate property parcels. Property transfers and building permits are processed throughout the year and all parcels are reassessed biennially. Special appraisal estimates of value for budgeting and rental studies are prepared periodically. For more information on property taxes visit: www.lynchburgva.gov
