Water & Sewer Increase Approved By BRWA

bedford county schools logoThe Bedford Regional Water Authority, on Tuesday approved an increase to the average water and sewer bill—due in part to the increased spending needs as part of a 10 year plan for Bedford reverting from a city to a town and becoming part of the county. The county’s Public Service Authority and the Bedford City Water and Wastewater Department combined to create the BRWA. According to the News & Advance, over the next nine years, rate changes will affect customers differently because of the service zones; with some customers possibly seeing a decrease this year. The rates are set for a vote after a public hearing June 17.
